The purpose of the WDI Company Team is to cultivate athletic excellence through a fair and rigorous tryout process, ensuring that every dancer has an equal opportunity to showcase their skills and potential throughout auditions.
We are committed to creating a competitive yet supportive environment where athletes are given the opportunities to be personally challenged to excel and grow.
We aim to prioritize individual development of skills & technique through a progression that is best suited for each individual dancer’s level, while also instilling the importance of integrity, respect, kindness, and sportsmanship across all ages and levels of the Company Team.
The WDI Company Team is a high-level competitive sport. It is the nature of competitive sports to experience times of triumph and times of tribulation. It is our program’s mission to guide our dancers in embracing challenges and setbacks as vital opportunities to learn while creating space for personal and athletic growth.
We are dedicated to fostering resilience and a ‘growth mindset’, encouraging each athlete to see disappointment as a stepping stone towards improvement and success. We will do this by providing constructive feedback and support for our dancers with the goal of helping our athletes transform obstacles into valuable learning experiences. We believe this will encourage their development of perseverance, and grant them the ability to thrive in any and all situations within the dance world and beyond.
- New and current WDI competitive dancers are required to audition.
- Placement is at the sole discretion of the Studio Director, and Competitive teaching staff.
- Not all dancers will be selected. Selection is based on the proper execution of technique, flexibility, performance, movement quality, and attitude.
