Sarah Brophy
Sarah’s dance journey began at the age of three right here at Waterdown Dancers Inc., where her passion and dedication over the years led her to join the competitive team, where she trained and performed in a variety of styles including tap, jazz, lyrical, ballet, and open.
For Sarah, WDI was more than a dance studio, it was a second home that shaped her both as a dancer and as a person. Her love for the WDI community and the joy of self-expression through movement only grew stronger over the years.
While studying at Wilfrid Laurier University, Sarah continued to pursue her love of dance by teaching and eventually becoming the Dance Supervisor for Laurier’s Recreational Dance Program. Her leadership and impact in fostering an inclusive, creative, and empowering dance environment earned her the Dolores “Mitzi” Michael Women Leaders Scholarship, a recognition of her outstanding contributions to both the dance community and Laurier Recreation.
Now, Sarah has come full circle, returning to WDI as an instructor, ready to give back to the place where it all began. She’s thrilled to be inspiring and mentoring the next generation of dancers, sharing the same love of dance that first sparked her own journey.
